Prince Albert II of Monaco completed a 48-hour official visit to Cameroon on 31 October 2026, the prince's office said. The trip began on 30 October 2026 and included a visit to the Edimar Princess Grace centre in Elig-Essono, a facility for street children that the principality has supported. No cooperation agreement or joint declaration was announced during the visit.
The brief of 30 October 2026 reported that a note from the Ministry of External Relations said no legal framework governs cooperation between Cameroon and Monaco and that relations remain consular, with Monaco's honorary consulate in Douala. That note still describes the relationship after the visit. The earlier brief also reported that a business delegation travelled with the prince and that Monaco's economic development chamber and the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts had been cited for possible exchanges. No exchange between the two chambers was announced during the visit.
The visit's humanitarian component, the Edimar centre, was the one programme item the prince's office confirmed. The brief of 30 October 2026 noted that Albert II was due in Dakar on 31 October 2026 for the opening of the Youth Olympic Games, a commitment that followed the Cameroon trip.
