Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived in Yaounde on 30 October 2026 for a 48-hour visit that runs to 31 October 2026, the presidency's civil cabinet said in a communique. The programme includes a meeting with President Paul Biya and a visit to the Edimar Princess Grace centre in Elig-Essono, a facility for street children that the principality has supported.

The prince visited Cameroon in March 2003, before he acceded to the throne on 6 April 2005. He was received by Biya at the Palace of Unity on 10 March 2003 and described that trip as a social visit, having helped finance part of the Edimar centre. He also discussed possible economic ties between Yaounde and Monaco at the time.

A note from the Ministry of External Relations says no legal framework governs cooperation between the two countries, and that relations remain consular. Monaco's honorary consulate is in Douala. A business delegation is travelling with the prince, and Monaco's economic development chamber and the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts have been cited for possible exchanges.

Albert II is a member of the International Olympic Committee and is due in Dakar on 31 October 2026 for the opening of the Youth Olympic Games.
