The Forum republicain (FORE) condemned the three-month suspension of the Front for National Salvation (FSNC) in a statement issued on 29 October 2026 by its second spokesperson, Ntsama Salome Hermance Flora, speaking for party president Parfait Mbvoum, who is held at Kondengui central prison.
The statement cites decree No. 00163/A/MINAT of 27 October 2026, which suspended the FSNC, an allied party, for three months. The FORE called the decision unjust and disproportionate, saying a party cannot be suspended on general accusations without a public adversarial hearing or proof established at a fair trial. It described the measure as a political sanction disguised as an administrative act.
The statement links the suspension to Mbvoum's detention, which it says has run 11 months without real progress in the proceedings, and accuses the authorities of targeting allies to silence dissent. It demands the immediate lifting of the suspension, respect for the law on political parties and public freedoms, and provisional release for Mbvoum.
The brief of 29 October 2026 reported the decree and reactions from the UDC, MRC, PCRN and MP3 Cameroon, and named the FSNC's response and the CPDM's comment as indicators to watch. The FSNC has since called the suspension a "non-event", and the CPDM, contacted, declined to comment. The suspension runs from 27 October 2026 to 27 January 2027.
