Home Elections Abdouraman Babba sets out ten pledges for opposition election victory

Abdouraman Hamadou Babba, who describes himself as a citizen in the movement "A qui Ca Suffit Vraiment Comme Ca !", published a text on 26 October 2026 setting out ten changes he links to a victory by opposition parties in the legislative and municipal elections.

In the text, Babba said the "Peuple du Changement", which he describes as a majority in Cameroon, could weigh on the institutions by giving its votes to opposition parties. The ten measures include control of the National Assembly by what he calls the actors of change, the appointment of a prime minister and most government members from among them, and an immediate revision of the state budget to address the most urgent problems of the population.

He also listed the release and compensation of what he called political prisoners through an amnesty law and a reparations law, a new consensual electoral code replacing Elecam with an independent body, and a change to the nationality code to allow dual nationality. The remaining measures include a parliamentary inquiry into events before, during and after the presidential election of 12 October 2025, control of the Senate from March 2028, a constitutional revision removing the post of vice president created in April 2026, and the appointment of six of the 11 Constitutional Council members by the actors of change when the current members' terms end on 7 February 2030.

Babba presented the text in his own name. No opposition coalition has publicly endorsed the proposals.
