The National Brigade for the Fight against Fraud in Petroleum Products (BNLFPP) seized 10,000 litres of diesel from a truck in Meiganga, in the Adamaoua region, on 29 October 2026, the Ministry of Water and Energy said. The brigade carried out the interception with the support of the forces of law and order, acting on instructions from the Minister of Water and Energy, Gaston Eloundou Essomba, during an operation on 28 and 29 October 2026.

The diesel was held in 40 drums of 250 litres each. The ministry said the fuel had benefited from the state subsidy and was intended for the national market, and that it was being moved out of Cameroon for delivery to a neighbouring country. The ministry did not name the country.

The ministry said the operation followed intelligence on the shipment, and that the fuel had been collected gradually from service stations and tanker trucks before being assembled for transport. It said the seizure formed part of a series of operations against fraudulent circuits, including the seizure of 36,000 litres of diesel at Boumnyebel on 29 July 2026 and 4,200 litres on the Sangmelima road on 13 September 2026.

The ministry did not say whether any arrests or charges followed the Meiganga seizure. The case matters because the fuel carried a state subsidy meant to supply the domestic market, and the ministry says diversions of this kind reduce the subsidised stock available to consumers in Cameroon.
