The campaign team of Tiriane Balbine Noah said no debate with Pierre Emmanuel Binyam will be held before the Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon (MRC) elects a new national president, rejecting an idea put forward by Binyam's team.

"No agreement of this kind has been given, and no debate will be organised," Noah's campaign coordination said in a statement. It said her campaign schedule, set well in advance, prioritises direct contact with party members during a national tour, and accused unnamed people of spreading unfounded allegations about a debate.

Djouffo Bruce, an MRC member serving a seven-year prison sentence, called on delegates to vote for Noah in a message published on her Facebook page. He said he remembered her prison visits and cited what he called her deep sense of humanism.

Mamadou Mota, a former MRC vice-president and Noah's campaign coordinator, published figures from an online vote on Facebook on 9 October showing Noah with more than 96 percent against less than 4 percent for Binyam. He noted the limits of the exercise.

The convention is called for 17 October 2026 at the party's Odza headquarters in Yaounde to replace Maurice Kamto, who resigned on 8 September. Binyam withdrew from the race on 14 October. The sub-prefect of Yaounde IV has not ruled on requests to withdraw the receipt authorising the meeting.
