Political analyst Oscar Ndjiki accused Cabral Libii, national president of the Parti camerounais pour la reconciliation nationale (PCRN), of reducing a political party to an ethnic community, in a tribune published on 16 October 2026.

Ndjiki said Libii had attributed to the Mouvement pour la renaissance du Cameroun (MRC) a claim about ethnic entitlement. He argued the MRC expression "C'est notre tour de bouffer la tontine" was a demand for political alternation after decades of RDPC rule, and that Libii read it instead as a communal claim tied to the origins of former MRC president Maurice Kamto. "Depuis quand un parti politique est-il une tribu?" Ndjiki wrote.

Ndjiki also criticised the community federalism Libii advocates, saying the model would give ethnic divisions lasting constitutional recognition. He contrasted it with Kamto's 2018 presidential campaign message that he would "passer le concours" to become a son of every Cameroonian locality.

Ndjiki closed by reversing the accusation: "Le tribaliste, c'est Cabral Libii." Libii and the PCRN had not responded to the tribune when it was published.
